Study visits and workshops abroad

The project “Move 2 Learn” was born as a result of hosting several delegations of adults learners from Weimar in Germany, that since 2015 have participated in many projects organized by MoverLab in the Empolese Valdelsa area with the cooperation of local organizations, such as associations and cooperatives working in the social field, institutions and municipal administrations of Empoli and Montelupo Fiorentino.

We are very proud that the project was financed by the Erasmus+ programme in 2020, that gives us the opportunity for the next two years to visit our partner in Germany to learn and exchange about best practices for our local network.

In partnership with

  • Co&So Consortium and
  • Auser Montelupo Fiorentino

we will identify 34 learners to participate in four mobility flows abroad: they will be employees, staff members, operators, teachers, educators, volunteers, managers of the Italian consortium.

The courses will last five days and will be held by our partner LEB, Ländliche Erwachsenenbildung Thüringen e.V. in Weimar in Germany.

Participants will be selected by the project consortium, prepared and sent to the partner abroad who will manage the learning courses. After the stay abroad, the activities will be assessed together with the participants, by the consortium partners and by the international partner.

The mobility subject areas were chosen relying on the needs of the consortium partners and on the offer by the transnational partner. The topics include the development of social skills, teaching methods and issues on the chosen areas: civil commitments, dementia, migrants and support to women.

Beside acquiring knowledge on various teaching and learning methods, participants will improve their skills in term of communication, creativity, and flexibility towards other countries and different cultures.

Learning mobilities increase dynamism in adult education and encourage the professional exchange between the involved institutions and organizations. The project aims to motivate the participants to be more and more active both in Regional and European networks. By reaching positive outcomes, it raises the possibility of increasing the number of adult education projects in Europe, wider themes and destinations and involving an increasing the number of persons involved in European education.
